On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the day following the results of the Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet with his partners to discuss building the government. According to the Election Commission of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) garnered 240 seats in the general elections on its own, 32 seats short of the halfway point in the 543-member Lok Sabha. Intriguingly, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, along with his erstwhile INDIA ally and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, boarded the same flight to the nation’s capital to attend the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting in New Delhi. At 10:30 am, the two leaders of Bihar are said to have boarded a Vistara flight.
Chandrababu Naidu Confirms to attend NDA Meeting Amid Speculation; BJP-Led NDA Surpasses Majority Mark with Regional Support
“You always want news. I am experienced and I have seen several political changes in this country. We are in the NDA, I am going to the NDA meeting,” Chandrababu Naidu told reporters amid speculation over his next move.
More than 20 seats ahead of the 272 required to form a government were won by the BJP-led NDA, but PM Narendra Modi would now have to rely on a variety of regional parties whose allegiances have changed over time.
The meeting of the INDIA bloc is slated to take place in the nation’s capital at 6 p.m., while the Union cabinet is planned to meet at approximately 3:30 p.m.
In Bihar, the BJP won 12 seats while Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United won 12 out of 40 seats. In the Lok Sabha elections, the RJD won four seats and its ally, the Congress, three.

Nitish Kumar’s Delhi Meeting with BJP Leaders; Tejashwi Yadav Confident in RJD’s Performance
Over the weekend, Nitish Kumar traveled to Delhi, where he had meetings with prominent BJP figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) of Chirag Paswan and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) of Jitan Ram Manjhi, two other NDA allies in Bihar, have each won five and one seat, respectively.
Before departing for Delhi, Tejashwi Yadav said reporters, “The RJD has received over one crore votes and increased its number of seats in Parliament.” We’ve done a really terrific job. We had run for office on legitimate concerns. Lord Ram bestowed his blessings upon the INDIA bloc. There is no doubt about it—the Modi factor is now over. The BJP’s majority now depends on its allies.”
Tejashwi Yadav responded, “We will obviously try,” when asked if the INDIA alliance will attempt to form the government.
