Bengaluru social media influencer detained for posing with fake AK-47
A 26-year-old Bengaluru social media influencer who filmed videos posing with phony AK-47 guns and bodyguards was detained under the Arms Act, police said on Tuesday.
The Kothanur police detained Arun Katare on allegations of inciting public panic. The police had been constantly monitoring Katare’s actions and had gotten information that someone was wandering around with an AK-47 rifle.
The cops arrested Katare after receiving a tip. After his interrogation, the police charged Katare with causing panic with the fake pistol and arrested him under the Arms Act and Section 290 of the IPC (now Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

On his Instagram feed, the accused is pictured displaying jewels and weaponry. He is well-known for creating reels featuring young women, fancy automobiles, and bikes in tourist destinations.
Bengaluru city police posts a cheeky tweet after arrest
After detaining Arun Katare, Bengaluru city police issued a witty tweet on its official X feed, stating, “Bangalore City Police doesn’t just watch; we act.” The cops also posted a video showing how likes can turn into cuffs.
