A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to probe the December 11 incident in Thane, Maharashtra, where Ashwajit Gaikwad, the son of a prominent bureaucrat, is accused of running his girlfriend over with his car.

The police stated that Gaikwad has not yet been questioned about the case and that his car is currently missing.

The accused, Ashwajit Gaikwad, along with two other people, has been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including reckless driving and intentionally inflicting harm. Anil Gaikwad is the managing director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.

She added that she ran to his car to get her phone and her bag and that’s when Ashwajit asked his driver to run her over. After running over her legs, they fled away from the site, she further said.

Speaking about her injuries, Priya said, “Three bones in my right leg are broken, it has been operated on. From my left shoulder to my hips I’ve deep injuries. I cannot move my body.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
