Summer Fields School in Delhi was evacuated on Friday after officials received an email containing a bomb threat.
Bomb threat received at 12.30 am; seen today morning
According to the details, the email was received at around 12.30 a.m. on Friday. However, authorities discovered the email only after the school started this morning. The school is in South Delhi’s affluent Greater Kailash neighbourhood.
The police were notified, and an evacuation was ordered for the school premises.

Case registered; investigation underway
As the investigation progressed, the police stated that they believe the call was a hoax. A case was filed, and an investigation was underway.
Shalini Agarwal, the school principal, commented on the email, stating that the students were evacuated within 10 minutes of the authorities seeing it. She also stated that the school campus were being inspected by the bomb squad.
“We received an email late at night and checked it early this morning. According to the SOP, we evacuated the students within 10 minutes of receiving the email. We informed the police and district administration, and we are grateful to the police for their prompt response,” she told reporters.
“Police and bomb squad are here and they are checking the premises. There was absolutely no panic amongst the parents,” she added.

Several museums & schools received bomb threats earlier this year
In June of this year, several museums in Delhi received a bomb threat, which ultimately proved to be a hoax.
Previously, numerous schools and hospitals in Delhi received bomb threat emails that proved out to be hoaxes.
