In the latter part of this year, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Watch 7 series along with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphones. The Galaxy Watch 6 series from last year will be replaced by the flagship wearable lineup. According to a recent media report, Samsung is planning to release three different Galaxy Watch 7 models. The report discloses the model numbers of each variant, which are anticipated to be available in Wi-Fi and eSIM versions. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 series could have 32GB of storage.
Samsung Set to Launch Three Versatile Versions of Galaxy Watch 7
According to a report, Samsung is gearing up to introduce three versions of the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 7 this year, expanding its lineup beyond its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 6. These new models are said to offer more versatility, with options available in both Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi and eSIM variants, providing users with greater connectivity options. In contrast, the Galaxy Watch 6 was limited to just two variants, comprising a base model and the Classic edition. This move suggests Samsung’s commitment to catering to a wider range of consumer preferences and needs in the wearable tech market.

Galaxy Watch 7 to Arrive in Three Distinct Variants
The Galaxy Watch 7 is rumored to come in three variants, each distinguished by unique model numbers. The first variant, identified by model numbers SM-L300 and SM-L305, is likely to cater to the entry-level segment of users. The middle variant, represented by model numbers SM-L310 and SM-L315, is positioned to offer a balance of features and affordability. Meanwhile, the top-end variant, denoted by model numbers SM-L700 and SM-L705, is expected to boast premium specifications and functionalities. Notably, model numbers ending with the digit five are speculated to indicate cellular connectivity and eSIM support, offering enhanced connectivity options for users on the go.
Galaxy Watch 7 Set to Double Storage Capacity for Enhanced User Experience
The upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 is anticipated to feature a notable enhancement in storage capacity, with reports suggesting a generous 32GB of internal storage. This represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 6 series, which offers half the storage capacity at 16GB. The doubling of internal storage in the Galaxy Watch 7 is poised to provide users with ample space to store apps, music, photos, and other data directly on the device, enhancing its functionality and usability. This increased storage capacity aligns with Samsung’s efforts to offer enhanced user experiences and accommodate the evolving demands of wearable technology users.

Galaxy Watch 7 Potential for Health Monitoring Expansion
The hardware of the Galaxy Watch 6 series is technically able to track the wearer’s blood pressure. But in the US, the watches aren’t able to use that feature. Because wrist-based blood pressure monitoring is difficult, wearables that make this claim usually require FDA clearance before being sold in the United States. A Samsung Care Ambassador claimed in a forum post from August 2023 that the company still hasn’t gotten that approval for its Galaxy Watch products.
Before the Galaxy Watch 6 series was released, Samsung was granted FDA clearance for irregular heartbeat notifications. This means that by the time the Watch 7 series is available in US stores, it may have received approval for blood pressure monitoring as well. We’re hoping Samsung can nail this one because blood pressure monitoring, when added to the range of health metrics Galaxy Watch devices can currently track, would make for a pretty comprehensive health tracking experience.
Enhanced Compatibility Anticipated for Galaxy Watch 7 Series
Usually, Samsung designs its mobile accessories to be compatible with its phones. The latest earbuds from the company allow for smooth transitions between tablets and phones bearing the Galaxy brand, but they do not support Bluetooth multipoint on devices made by other companies. Similar to this, some features of the Galaxy Watch are exclusive to pairing the wearable with a Samsung phone. Only Samsung phones officially have access to the Samsung Health Monitor app, which is only officially available through the Galaxy Store, in order to take ECG readings and monitor blood pressure in those countries that permit it.
This kind of feature exclusivity should be eased for the Watch 7 series, either by allowing the Samsung Health Monitor to be formally used with non-Samsung phones or by integrating full ECG functionality into the Galaxy Health app that is available on the Play Store.
Galaxy Watch 7 Unveiling Expected at Samsung Unpacked Event in Paris
The highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 7 lineup is poised to make its debut at the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event, where it will share the stage with the next-generation foldable smartphones. Scheduled for July, the event is anticipated to take place in Paris, offering an exciting platform for Samsung to unveil its latest innovations in wearable technology.
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to boast significant improvements in performance and efficiency. It is rumored to be powered by a cutting-edge 3nm chip, marking a notable advancement over its predecessor. Additionally, the new wearable is said to run on a revamped version of Wear OS, coupled with Samsung’s proprietary One UI Watch interface. These enhancements are projected to deliver a 50 percent increase in power efficiency compared to the Galaxy Watch 6, promising extended battery life and enhanced overall performance for users.
