A Gold Medalist in Political Science, she holds M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees and is globally recognized as the first Indian scholar to earn a Ph.D. at the international level on the role of the Ghadar Woman Movement in India’s Freedom Struggle—marking a pioneering contribution to historical and political scholarship.
Dr. Gill comes from an illustrious patriotic lineage. She is the granddaughter of the great martyr Shaheed Banta Singh Sanghwal, and her family endured immense sacrifices, including seven years of house arrest, torture, and persecution from 1914 until India’s independence. This legacy of courage and resilience continues to shape her life’s mission and service to society.

With over 36 years of rich experience in education, administration, and management, Dr. Gill has served with distinction as Principal of Ramgarhia College and Janta College. Her leadership in academia has been marked by discipline, inclusivity, and a strong emphasis on value-based education.

Beyond academia, Dr. Sanghwal plays a pivotal role in healthcare delivery as the Managing Director of Oxford Super-Specialty Hospital, Janta Multi-Specialty Hospital, and a Drug De-Addiction Centre in Jalandhar, Punjab.
