Rishabh Pant banned for one match for slow over-rate
Due to his team’s over-rate offense in the match against Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals’ captain Rishabh Pant has been handed a one-match suspension and a fine of INR 30 lakh.

As a result of his team’s poor over-rate in Match 56 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 07, 2024, Pant has been fined and suspended for one match for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
At the beginning of the game’s last over, DC was ten minutes late. This was DC’s third offense of this kind this season, giving him a suspension and a large fine. The impact substitution and the other DC players have all been fined INR 12 lakh, or half of their match fee, whichever is lower.

DC challenged the match referee’s decision in an appeal, which was forwarded to the BCCI Ombudsman for assessment. Following a virtual hearing, the Ombudsman declared that the match referee’s ruling is conclusive and legally binding.
Pant to miss crucial tie against RCB on Sunday
Pant will therefore miss the Sunday’s pivotal DC vs RCB game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It should be mentioned that Delhi Capitals is still in the Indian Premier League and that a loss would result in their elimination from the competition.
This season’s DC comeback has been greatly aided by Pant, particularly after a poor beginning. With due support from Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jake Fraser-McGurk, DC has emerged as one of the most fascinating teams to watch in both departments.

The pinnacle of Pant’s leadership was demonstrated in their away match against GT. Pant won player of the match honors for his outstanding captaincy, which enabled DC to shut out GT for just 89 runs.
DC is currently tied for fifth place in the league table with both CSK and LSG. There are still two games for DC: one against LSG and one against RCB.
Rishabh Pant has returned to the game in 2024 after a hiatus of more than a year. After a near-fatal accident in December 2022, Pant had to put in a lot of effort to get back into the sport he loves.
