KL Rahul continued his excellent run of form in IPL 2025 as DC kept up their winning run in IPL 2025. Delhi successfully chased down the target of 164 in 17.5 overs with six wickets remaining, while the hosts lamented not taking advantage of the excellent start they had.

KL Rahul, who has previously amassed 648 runs in 16 matches with RCB, struck a 93 off 53 balls to continue his excellent form while representing DC. Delhi won the toss on the day and chose to bowl first, a decision that appeared to be the obvious option.

Nevertheless, Phil Salt got off to a flyer, particularly during the initial phase of the powerplay overs. Salt began to charge Axar in the second over, smacking a six and a boundary to find his rhythm, but it was Mitchell Starc’s following over that brought Chinnaswamy crowd to their feet.

The England batsman struck a six on the first delivery and then smashed three 4s on the subsequent three deliveries, with the last one being a no ball. The free hit resulted in a six, and Virat Kohli managed to get four leg byes, bringing the total to 30 from the over. Yet, it was during the following over that tragedy occurred. A significant mix-up during the fifth ball of the fourth over left Salt stuck in the center of the field, and Vipraj Nigam’s throw to KL Rahul led to a run out. Salt scored 37 runs off 17 balls, while RCB reached 62 runs in 4 overs.

Axar began to utilize his bowlers effectively, causing RCB to struggle for momentum as Liam Livingstone was dismissed by Mohit Sharma. After being 50-0 in 3 overs, RCB reached their 100 in 11.4 overs.

In the last two overs, Tim David delivered an incredible performance, scoring 36 runs and boosting RCB to a total of 163 for 7.

The DC chase began in the worst possible manner as they lost their openers quickly. Faf du Plessis, having sustained an injury during the first innings, still seemed to be affected by the blow as he attempted a big shot and sent the ball straight up. Jake Fraser-McGurk’s poor run continued as he was also out after attempting to cut across the line.

At one point, DC found themselves under pressure again as Axar returned to the pavilion with Delhi at 60 for 4 in 9 overs.

The partnership between Rahul and Stubbs amassed 100 runs in 54 balls, with Rahul hitting Yash Dayal for a six and a four to tie the scores before another six gave DC their best start ever in an IPL season.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
