Delhi Rains: IMD Issues Red Alert

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a red alert for all of Delhi today. Moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected all day, with the chance of severe intervals in eastern and central Delhi.

Numerous Flights Delayed

Persistent Delhi rains today have led to widespread flight delays and a few cancellations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded or facing extended wait times.

Airport officials reported that low visibility, waterlogging on service roads, and challenging runway conditions slowed down both arrivals and departures. Airlines have advised travellers to check flight status online or through official apps before heading to the airport.

In general, the forecast indicates a mixture of clouds with some light rain and thunderstorms. The highest temperature in Delhi is anticipated to range from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, while the lowest will be between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has cautioned about ongoing rain in nearby Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. An orange alert for moderate to heavy rainfall has been declared for three districts in the state.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
