Assam CM Himanta Sarma refers to Rahul Gandhi as “unguided missile’ ; asks Sonia to coach him
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday compared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to an “unguided missile” and called on former AICC president Sonia Gandhi to mentor him.
Sarma, the BJP’s co-in-charge for Jharkhand elections, voiced worries about the safety of tribals in the state, asserting they are encountering a greater danger than the tribals in Manipur.
In discussions with reporters, he stated that although the tribal population was rising in Manipur, it was declining in Jharkhand because of widespread infiltration.
“No one takes Rahul Gandhi seriously…Our election agenda focuses on JMM-led coalition’s exploitation of ‘Maati, Beti, Roti’ in Jharkhand,” Sarma added.
In a reaction to Rahul Gandhi’s claim that the BJP calls tribals “Vanvasis,” Sarma clarified, “We view tribals as Adivasis.” BJP leaders consistently refer to the term Adivasi with respect.
Speaking on X, he remarked that Rahul Gandhi visited Jharkhand but did not mention infiltrators at all. “Rahul Gandhi opposes tribal interests and is against OBC.” He posted on X that his INDIA alliance government failed to keep the commitments made to OBCs.
“Condition of tribals in Jharkhand is worse than Manipur….Rahul Gandhi never visited infiltration-hit areas such as Bhognadih and Gaibathan,” he said.
The Jharkhand assembly elections are scheduled for November 13 and 20, with vote counting set for November 23.
