He emphasized that good governance is the key to democracy’s success, and the primary objective of the government should be to ensure that developmental schemes benefit the general public, especially the underprivileged sections. Republic Day serves as a reminder to embrace the values granted by the Constitution.

Referring to Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the upcoming assembly elections, stating that this Republic Day holds special significance. He urged voters to exercise their franchise in the true spirit of democracy, reminding them that they are not just electing a government but shaping a system that will impact their lives for the next five years.

He also cautioned against attempts to influence elections globally through social media and media campaigns. He encouraged citizens to make informed choices without external pressures, thus strengthening democracy.

The theme of this year’s Republic Day focuses on India’s rich culture and heritage, along with its progress in recent years. The Lieutenant Governor called for collective efforts to preserve Delhi’s historical legacy and ensure holistic urban development.

Concluding his message, the Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes on Republic Day and reiterated the commitment to Delhi’s progress. He emphasized that every citizen must use their voting rights wisely to further strengthen democracy.

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
