Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Kartavya Bhavan on August 6, 2025, marking a significant addition to the infrastructure of India’s central administrative zone.
Located in New Delhi, the newly constructed Kartavya Bhavan is designed to house various key government departments and aims to streamline administrative functions with state-of-the-art facilities.
What Is Kartavya Bhavan?
Kartavya Bhavan, formerly known as a part of the Central Secretariat complex, is a newly constructed government office building designed to centralize various key ministries and departments. The name “Kartavya” (meaning “duty”) reflects the spirit of governance and responsibility towards the nation.
The building is part of the broader Central Vista project, which aims to create an integrated and modern workspace for government functionaries, replacing the aging colonial-era structures with state-of-the-art facilities.
The building aligns with the vision of modernizing India’s governance architecture while symbolizing the spirit of kartavya—duty and service to the nation.
