Baijnath Patel, an RSS volunteer from the OBC (Other Backward Classes) community, Lalchand Kushwaha, also from the OBC community, and Sanjay Sonkar, a Dalit community member, were the other three proposers for prime minister, Narendra Modi.

(Candidates must have at least one proposer, who must be a registered voter in the Assembly or parliamentary seat for which they are endorsing a candidate’s nomination, according to the Election Commission. The proposer and the candidate both need to sign the nomination documents.)

Union Ministers and leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were present as the Prime Minister signed his nomination papers.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party JP Nadda, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Leader of LJP-Ram Vilas Chirag Paswan, Leader of the Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, and Leader of Rashtriya Lok Morcha Upendra Kushwaha were present at the occasion.

The Prime Minister described his relationship with Varanasi as “inseparable and incomparable” earlier today.

PM Modi posted a video on X, in which he expressed his affection for Kashi and the evolution of his relationship with River Ganga.

The video featured the Prime Minister performing puja and darshan, along with many of his roadshows on his numerous visits to his city.

“I felt like I was invited to the city by ‘Ma Ganga’ when I went to Kashi in 2014. However, today, after 10 years of my visit to Kashi, I can say ‘Aaj Ma Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hai’ (today Ma Ganga has adopted me),” PM Modi said in the video.

PM Modi offered prayers at the Dasaswamedh Ghat

Today, at the Dasaswamedh Ghat, PM Modi offered prayers to the River Ganga before submitting his nomination.

Additionally, PM Modi went to the city’s Kaal Bhairav Temple. The Prime Minister became emotional and added, “Varanasi locals have made me a ‘Banarasiya,’ a resident of Banaras.”

PM Modi, who first contested from Varanasi in 2014 as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, is vying for a third term in office when polling will be held in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election, which takes place on June 1.

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
