PM Modi commemorates the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Divas at the Kargil War Memorial on 26th July, 2024. Prime Minister also met the families of the soldiers in Ladakh as a mark of respect to honor them.
This day marks the bravery of Indian Soldiers in capturing the mountain heights that were occupied by the Pakistani Army on Jul 26, 1999 as Vijay Diwas. This day serves as remarkable victory across the nation and achieved against all odds amidst the harsh Himalayan terrain.
PM Modi call Agnipath Scheme necessary for Indian Army
Prime Minister said on the Agnipath scheme, “The History of those who are misleading the youth of the country shows that they do not care about the soldiers. These are the same people who lied about One Rank One Passion. It is our government which implemented One Rank One Passion, gave more than Rs. 1.25 lakh crore to ex-serviceman. These are the same people who did not build a war memorial….These are the same people who did not provide adequate bulletproof jackets to our soldiers deployed on the border…”

He also included, “Agnipath Scheme is also an example of the necessary reforms done by the Army…Some people used to think that the Army means saluting politicians, doing parades but for us. Army means the faith of 140 crore countrymen. The goal of Agnipath is make the Army young, to keep the Army continuously fit for War. Unfortunately, some people have made such a sensitive issue related to national security a subject of politics. These are the same people who weakened our Army by committing scams worth thousands of crores I the Army…”
