‘Will visit Gurudwara to offer prayers’: Jatinder Singh

Sarabjot Singh‘s father, Jatinder Singh Sahansweral, has disclosed that he will visit the gurdwara and serve a Langar (community supper) to commemorate his son’s Olympic victory.

Sarabjot and Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in the mixed 10m air pistol event at the Chateauroux Shooting Range, defeating Korea’s Wonho Lee and Jin Ye Oh 16-10 in a dramatic match to give India its second medal of the Olympics 2024.

“There were two matches; one of which he lost. The second match was a mixed event alongside Manu Bhaker, where he earned bronze. My son won the medal. Congratulations to everyone in Ambala, including the peasants. I’ll go to the Gurdwara first, serve langar, and then go home. I’ve even called my pals, and everyone is on their way to our house,” Jatinder Singh said in an exclusive interview with TV channel Aaj Tak.

Sarabjot Singh almost missed the men’s 10m air pistol final last Saturday, falling one inner 10 shot short of German competitor Robin Walter.

The disappointment was evident, and Sarabjot burst into tears. However, a vital phone call from his father later that evening proved to be a watershed moment.

Jatinder Singh’s words of encouragement were important in helping Sarabjot regain his composure and concentrate, ultimately leading to his victory in the mixed event.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
