Nine killed in Deadly Highway Collision in Bulandshahr

A late-night collision in Bulandshahr claimed nine lives and left two critically injured. Injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

CM Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and announced ex-gratia assistance to victims’ families. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the devastating accident.

August 25, 2025: In a heart-wrenching accident on Sunday morning, nine people lost their lives and two were critically injured when a truck rammed into a tractor-trolley in Bulandshahr district. The collision occurred around 2:15 AM on a highway stretch, jolting the region awake with news of another devastating road mishap.

Bulandshahr District Magistrate Shruti confirmed the fatalities and said that the two critically injured victims are receiving advanced medical care, while others who sustained injuries are reported to be out of danger. Local residents rushed to assist before police and emergency services arrived, helping in shifting the injured to nearby hospitals.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Shlok Kumar confirmed that the truck driver fled the spot and a search operation is underway. “We are scanning CCTV footage and will not spare those responsible. Additional police have been deployed to monitor traffic and prevent overspeeding in the area,” he added.

The tragedy has cast a shadow over the district, with grieving families mourning the sudden loss of their loved ones. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for those injured.

Authorities have begun investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest possible negligence, though officials are examining whether fatigue, speeding, or poor visibility contributed to the crash.

Meanwhile, road safety concerns in Uttar Pradesh have once again come under the spotlight, with locals urging stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and better highway monitoring to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
