The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to finalise its name for Next vice president of India on August 12, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda entrusted with the decision-making authority.

During a high-level strategy meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the alliance unanimously empowered the two leaders to determine the candidate, a decision that aligns with the Election Commission’s schedule for the upcoming September 9 poll.

Among those present were senior leaders such as JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Shiv Sena leader Shrikant Shinde, Milind Deora, Praful Patel, Chirag Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha, Ram Mohan, Lallan Singh, Apna Dal (S) leader Anupriya Patel, and Ramdas Athawale.
