Tamil Nadu’s Deputy Chief Minister will now be Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is currently serving as the Sport Minister. In addition to the current Sports Ministry, Udhayanidhi has also been given the responsibility for Planning and Development.
Previously, Chief Minister MK Stalin suggested to Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi that Udhayanidhi be given the additional responsibility of Planning and Development and be appointed as Deputy Chief Minister.

In a major cabinet reshuffle in Tamil Nadu, K Ponmudy, the Higher Education Minister, will assume the position of Minister for Forests, Environment, and Climate Change. Siva V Meyyanathan is appointed as the new Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, and N Kayalvizhi Selvaraj will assume responsibility for Human Resources Management and Ex-Servicemen Welfare. M Mathiventhan will take on the responsibility for overseeing Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare.
RS Rajakannappan has been designated as the Minister responsible for Milk and Dairy Development, as well as Khadi & Village Industries. Thangam Tennarasu has been assigned the responsibilities of Environment, the Pollution Control Board, and Climate Change, alongside his existing duties in Finance and Archaeology.

SM Nasar and V Senthilbalaji, along with other DMK leaders, who were released from jail on bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case, are being suggested for re-entry into the council of ministries. Additionally, Govi Chezhian and R Rajendran have joined the council of ministers.
However, T Mano Thangaraj, Gingee KS Masthan, K Ramachandran have lost their positions in the portfolios of Milk & Dairy Development, Minorities Welfare, and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare and Tourism.
