Shambhavi Choudhary- India’s youngest MP
Shambhavi Choudhary, a Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader, became India’s youngest Member of Parliament, winning the Lok Sabha election from Bihar’s Samastipur. She defeated Sunny Hazari, the Congress Party’s nominee, by 187251 votes.
“I extend my well-wishes to Samastipur’s people. I believe they made the right decision, and I will do my best to meet their expectations. Samastipur has given me a significant win, and I believe the people have given me a place in their hearts. I stated that I had come here to seek blessings as a daughter, and today they have accepted me as their daughter,” Shambhavi Choudhary told PTI after her victory.

Who is Shambhavi Choudhary?
Shambhavi Choudhary is only 25 years old. She is a third-generation politician.
Shambhavi Choudhary’s father, Ashok Choudhary, is a JDU leader. He is one of the most powerful ministers in Nitish Kumar’s cabinet.
Her father had moved to JD(U) from the Congress.
Shambhavi Choudhary’s grandfather, the late Mahavir Choudhary, was also a Congress politician. He served as a state minister when the party ruled Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated Shambhavi during a rally in Bihar. Shambhavi Choudhary stated in a previous interview that she was always interested in politics.

“No father can gain the mandate for his daughter. This will require a significant amount of effort on my part. The people of Samastipur will decide whether I can represent this seat in Lok Sabha, not my family. I must be a part of a democratic system that is for, by, and for the people,” she had said.
Shambhavi Choudhary pursued Masters of Arts (Sociology) from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics.
“For me understanding politics and society is not a difficult job. Joining politics for me is to get practical experience of all those things which I studied only. My academic background will certainly help me in identifying difficulties being faced by the people in my area…and will try my best to resolve them at the earliest,” Choudhary had said.
She is the daughter-in-law of Acharya Kishore Kunal, a social reformer and former IPS officer. She’s married to Saayan Kunal.
