First meeting between Sisodia and Kejriwal since latter’s resignation

AAP leader Manish Sisodia will visit Arvind Kejriwal at his home today to discuss potential candidates for the next Delhi Chief Minister following Kejriwal’s announcement on Sunday that he will step down. As rumors started swirling about potential candidates, the Opposition dismissed Kejriwal’s actions as a “PR stunt” and a “mere gimmick” aimed at improving his reputation.

Arvind Kejriwal, who was freed from the Tihar Jail on Friday following bail from the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case, revealed his decision during his initial speech to AAP leaders and workers. He also mentioned that a legislative party gathering is anticipated to take place in the next two days to determine his successor.

“I will be stepping down as Chief Minister in two days. I will not occupy the Chief Minister’s seat until the people give their verdict…. I would visit all homes and streets and not sit in the Chief Minister’s chair till I get a verdict from the people,” he said.

In a Sunday post on X, Sisoda stated that he will come back as Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi only if the public “confirms his integrity”.

Sisodia won’t be his successor, clears Kejriwal

In his Sunday speech, Arvind Kejriwal made it clear that Manish Sisodia would not be his successor.

I talked to Manish, and he also mentioned that he will take care of the position once the people acknowledge our integrity. The Delhi Chief Minister stated that the destiny of Sisodia and himself is now up to you.

Insiders from the party revealed that Kejriwal will vacate the Chief Minister’s residence within a fortnight of stepping down. Insiders from the party also mentioned that Kejriwal made the choice to resign during a private meeting with senior AAP members.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
