A 40-year-old guy raped five women on platform number one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus the same day he had sexually attacked a 20-year-old college student on a small train. The accused, Nawazu Karim Sheikh, is seen on the surveillance camera pushing a female traveller and making lewd gestures while wearing a red T-shirt.
Around five women were the focus of Nawazu’s inappropriate behaviour at the CSMT station. But as of right today, none of the victims have reported themselves to the police. The footage shows Nawazu elbowing female travellers and brushing past them. In one of the films, he is also seen indecently touching a woman on a train platform.
In another clip, Nawazu was seen obstructing the path of two women commuters but the women didn’t approach police or confront him and walked away.
When the female student was alone in the compartment, Sheikh singled her out and attacked her sexually. According to him, a case was opened at the CSMT Railway police station under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code based on the student’s complaint.
