US President Donald Trump reiterated his assertion of preventing war between India and Pakistan after Prime Minister Narendra Modi corrected him.
“I stopped a conflict between Pakistan and India. I love Pakistan,” he added. “Modi is an incredible person. I talked to him last night,” he stated while conversing with the reporters.
Previously, PM Modi conveyed to the US President that India has never agreed to mediation, does not agree to it, and will not in the future.
He also emphasized his plans for a trade agreement with India. We will establish a trade agreement with Modi from India. “However, I prevented a conflict between Pakistan and India.”
Trump praised Pakistan’s army chief Asif Munir and PM Modi, stating they were very influential.

“This man [Munir] was extremely influential in stopping war from Pakistani side, Modi from the other side. They were going at it and they are both nuclear countries…I stopped a war between two major nuclear nations but I don’t think I have a story written about it,” he said.
PM Modi spoke with Trump for 35 minutes on Wednesday, during which he made it clear that the US was not involved in mediating the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He also mentioned that there was no conversation regarding a US-India trade agreement amid the hostilities.
