This year’s polls, which are scheduled to start on April 19 and end on June 1, will be conducted in seven phases, following the format of the previous Lok Sabha elections. All seven of Delhi’s seats and all ten of Haryana’s seats will be up for election on May 25, the day of phase six.
Sixth Round of Elections: Battleground States and Strategic Alliances
On May 25, votes will be cast in seven states, including the vital battlegrounds of West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. Even though these three states have elections in every stage, a sizable portion of their seats will be up for grabs in the sixth round. These comprise 14 of Uttar Pradesh’s 80 seats, 8 of West Bengal’s 42 seats, and 8 of Bihar’s 40 seats.
The remaining seats up for election in this phase consist of six in Odisha and four in Jharkhand. Beginning on May 13, these states will also hold four rounds of voting.

The Congress, allies of INDIA, and the AAP have decided to share seats and will be running in tandem, giving the BJP, which had won all seven seats in Delhi and all ten in Haryana in 2019, a more formidable challenge this time around.

Congress and AAP Alliances: Distribution of Seats and Candidate Selection
The Congress will field candidates for the remaining seats, with the AAP vying for four in Delhi and one in Haryana.
The Congress has not yet announced its nominee for its share of the three seats in Delhi; the BJP has named candidates for all seven seats, and the AAP has named candidates for the four seats it is contesting. Only Manoj Tiwari, one of the BJP’s seven MPs, will be replicated. Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi and divisive individuals Ramesh Bidhuri and Parvesh Verma were among the MPs dismissed.
