Drunk friends challenged man to sit on box of firecrackers; guy looses life

A man, aged 32, died in Bengaluru on Diwali evening after being challenged by his friends to sit on a box of firecrackers.

The police stated that Shabarish and his friends were reportedly drunk while celebrating Diwali on October 31. Shabarish’s friends said they would purchase an autorickshaw for him in exchange for sitting on a box of firecrackers.

Without a job, Shabarish took on the challenge. The area’s CCTV footage captures Shabarish’s friends leaving the spot after setting fire to the box of fireworks he was seated on.

The box continues to explode in the video, while Shabarish is seen writhing on the ground with his friends gathered around him.

His friends rushed him to a hospital after he sustained serious injuries.

The Konanakunte police arrested six people in connection with Shabarish’s death and charged them for culpable homicide.

According to DCP South Lokesh, Shabarish was unemployed and accepted the challenge while hoping for a better future with the autorickshaw that was promised to him by his friends.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
