The latest attack occurs only days after a community lunch took place at Kap’s Cafe for Surrey’s Mayor Brenda Locke and members of the police service to promote a message of safety and unity.

The first firing incident took place in the early hours of March. CCTV footage showed armed individuals firing at the shuttered cafe before escaping. No injuries were reported, and the motive was unclear at the time, although it was suspected to be an extortion warning.
