While addressing the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) annual meeting, US President Joe Biden, 81, stated that Vice President Kamala Harris “could be President of the United States”. Democrats are increasingly calling for Biden to bow out of the race ahead of the November 5 presidential election.
“She’s not only a great vice-president, she could be President of the United States,” Biden said of Harris, 59, indicating her as the best-positioned candidate to replace him if he chooses to retire. However, Biden told the crowd that he had already made plans for the first 100 days of his second term.
If Kamala Harris succeeds Biden and wins the presidential election, she will become the first woman of colour to be elected President of the United States.

Harris has emerged as the best alternative to replace Biden
Biden’s poor performance in the first presidential debate has raised questions inside the Democratic Party about his ability to serve a second term.
As calls for Trump to stand down mount, Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the leading contender to succeed him.
Kamala Harris, an Indian-American, is viewed as the natural option to lead the fight against Donald Trump. She is also prepared to debate Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, at the vice-presidential debate.

Vice President Kamala Harris has been named “the future of the Democratic Party” by the White House.
According to a CNN poll, Harris and Trump are virtually deadlocked, with 47% of registered voters favoring Trump and 45% supporting Harris.
Biden informed audience he has plans for first 100 days of second term
According to the New York Post, Biden has made no indication that he intends to resign from the presidential campaign.
During his speech at the NAACP annual conference, he informed the audience that he had already planned to sign voting-rights legislation “come hell or high water” during the first 100 days of his second term.
During his remarks, Biden criticized former President Donald Trump, who just escaped an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.
Following the attack, Biden issued a rare Oval Office statement urging Americans to “lower the temperature” of the campaign, according to the New York Post.
“Donald Trump’s presidency was hell for black America,” Biden said at the convention. Referring to the National Guard’s response to the 2020 riots after George Floyd’s murder, he asked, “What the hell’s the matter with this man?”
