Global Conservative Alliance: Meloni praises Trump and warns that the Left’s frustration has turned to hysteria as conservatives unite worldwide.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni strongly criticized the Left on Saturday, accusing them of “double standards” for labeling leaders like U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as threats to democracy.
Speaking via videolink at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, Meloni praised Trump and Senator JD Vance while taking aim at “elites” and left-wing politicians. She argued that the Left’s frustration has escalated into hysteria with Trump’s rise, as conservatives worldwide are now collaborating.

“The Left is nervous, and with Trump’s victory, their irritation has turned into hysteria—not just because conservatives are winning, but because we are working together globally. When Bill Clinton and Tony Blair built a global leftist network in the 1990s, they were called statesmen. Today, when Trump, [Javier] Milei, Modi, or I speak, we are called threats to democracy,” Meloni stated.
She dismissed these accusations as political bias, adding, “Despite all the mud they throw at us, people no longer believe their lies. Citizens keep voting for us.”

Meloni’s CPAC appearance sparked backlash in Italy, with opposition leaders calling for her to withdraw, particularly after former Trump advisor Steve Bannon’s controversial speech. Bannon was accused of making a Nazi-style salute, prompting Democratic Party leader Elly Schlein to denounce CPAC as a “neo-fascist gathering.”
Undeterred, Meloni rejected the criticism and aligned herself with the global conservative movement, reaffirming her leadership philosophy: “We serve the people; we do not rule over them.”
