The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Tuesday that heavy rainfall is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan over the next six to seven days.
It stated that the monsoon will stay active in various regions of northwest, central, and east India throughout this period.
Significant rainfall is also expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand. Certain days might experience intense rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

Heavy to very heavy rains expected in certain areas
The IMD also observed that Konkan and Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain areas, providing essential moisture but also raising the risk of waterlogging and flash floods in susceptible areas.
On Monday morning, the meteorological department forecasted higher-than-usual rainfall in the country for July and advised authorities and residents in central India, Uttarakhand, and Haryana to remain vigilant due to potential flooding hazards.

It stated that precipitation is expected to be lower than usual in many regions of the northeast, several parts of eastern India, and the far southern peninsula of India.
Saurashtra and Kutch have been noted, with predictions suggesting considerable rainfall in the upcoming week.
IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra stated in an online press briefing that there is a significant likelihood of substantial rainfall in central India and the neighboring southern peninsula. This comprises eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, nearby regions of Vidarbha and Telangana, and sections of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
