JD Vance has stated that Elon Musk is committing a “huge mistake” by going after the President of the United States. In response to Musk’s recent series of furious messages directed at Donald Trump, the Vice President labeled the billionaire as an “emotional guy” who lost his composure.
“I actually think if Elon chilled out a little bit, everything would be fine,” he said in an interview released Friday, addressing the very public breakdown between Trump and Musk.
Musk, the head of Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, launched a barrage of social media messages targeting Trump, condemning his tax and spending legislation, proposing impeachment, and even claiming that the government was hiding Trump’s connections to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In reply, Trump referred to Musk as “crazy” and warned that he might terminate his federal contracts. Musk, in response, stated he would retract NASA’s Dragon spacecraft.
The vice president delivered the comments in an interview with comedian Theo Von, recognized for his edgy humor and his recent performance supporting Trump at a military base in Qatar. The interview was recorded on Thursday, while Musk’s posts gained viral attention on X, the social media platform he owns.

Trump had warned Musk against supporting democrats
US President Donald Trump warned his former advisor Elon Musk of “severe consequences” Saturday if the tech billionaire tries to retaliate against Republicans supporting a contentious spending bill.
Trump’s remarks to NBC News follow the dramatic collapse of the relationship between the most powerful individual and the wealthiest person in the world this week.
The heated break-up — mainly conducted on social media in front of an engrossed audience on Thursday — was sparked by Musk’s severe denouncement of Trump’s purported “big, beautiful” spending bill, which is presently under consideration by Congress.
Certain lawmakers opposing the bill urged Musk — a significant financial supporter of the Republican Party in the previous presidential election — to finance primary challenges against Republicans who supported the legislation.
“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” Trump, who also branded Musk “disrespectful,” told NBC News on Saturday.
