According to sources, the weapon employed to kill Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya has been found.
Among the five individuals charged with plotting his murder and executing the crime, Vishal Chauhan reportedly struck Raja first with the machete.
As per NDTV, the weapon was used to assault Raja multiple times, despite the man’s attempts to defend himself. During the investigation, police discovered that the suspect had purchased the machete near the railway station in Guwahati.
Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi were in Meghalaya for their honeymoon when they disappeared on May 23. Raja’s remains were discovered in a ravine close to Weisawdong Falls on June 2, as the search for Sonam persisted. On June 9, she surfaced in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, approximately 1,200 km from the location of the crime, and turned herself in to the police.

Later, Sonam, her supposed boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, along with Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi were detained for plotting the murder.
A video has recently surfaced showing Raja and Sonam trekking through the Meghalaya mountains. On the day of the homicide, the pair had evacuated the lodging and embarked on a journey to Cherrapunji. A guide who had encountered them previously spotted the couple and proposed his assistance, but they declined. Approximately 2,000 steps into the nearly 3,000-steps path, the three suspects joined them.
Raja’s family has requested a narco-analysis test for the parents of main suspect Sonam, expressing their suspicion that more individuals are involved in the murder. At first, it was believed that Sonam and Raj engaged the three other suspects to murder Raja; however, it later became clear they were his friends.
Sonam’s brother Govind attended the Hindu ceremonies conducted on the 13th day following a death, even though Raja’s family claimed he was not invited. “I am present to ask for pardon. If anyone has suspicions about us, we request an investigation. We support the family of Raja Raghuvanshi,” he stated to the media. Govind had participated in the post-death ceremony of Raja Raghuvanshi in Ujjain on June 13.
