The executive president of JMM, Hemant Soren, resigned as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Sunday and requested to form the government after his JMM-led alliance won a decisive victory in the state the day before.

Soren announced that the taking of the oath will take place on November 28. The decision followed the unanimous election of him as the leader of the legislature party by the leaders of the INDIA bloc in the state.

Soren encountered Governor Santosh Gangwar and handed his resignation letter to him. He then asserted his right to establish the government for a second term in a row.

Speaking to reporters after meeting Gangwar, Soren stated, “I’ve asserted my right to establish the government, and I’ve submitted a letter of support from alliance partners to the governor.” He asked us to create the government. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for November 28.

In an impressive turnaround, Soren’s JMM-led coalition secured victory in Jharkhand for a second term, claiming 56 seats in the 81-seat Assembly, contradicting exit polls that favored a BJP-led NDA victory. The grouping includes JMM, Congress, RJD, and the Left parties.

Despite running an aggressive campaign in the state, the BJP secured only 21 seats while its NDA partners won three. 41 is the threshold for the majority.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
