Intense rainfall struck Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday evening, leading to extensive waterlogging in numerous significant parts of the city. Visuals from BD Marg, GRG Road, and Lodhi Road displayed roads inundated with rainwater, greatly impacting traffic flow and pedestrian access.
The most recent update from the IMD indicates that cloud clusters moving eastward are likely to bring moderate rainfall to many regions, with some isolated areas experiencing heavy showers over the next few days. Light to moderate rain is currently occurring in the eastern regions of Delhi, and the situation is anticipated to worsen.

IMD details several consequences
The IMD has upheld a cautious perspective, forecasting ongoing moderate rainfall for Delhi and the NCR in the coming 24 hours. The orange alert is still in effect, indicating that residents should monitor weather warnings and steer clear of flooded or low-lying regions when going outside.
There is a strong likelihood of localized flooding on roadways and water accumulation in low-lying urban regions, especially in sections of Delhi-NCR. Underpasses in vulnerable areas might be temporarily shut down because of flooding.
Intense rain may result in temporary decreases in visibility, particularly for drivers. The intense rainfall could also harm plantations, horticultural resources, and crops that are still growing.
Structures at risk, such as makeshift shelters and fragile walls, could experience some damage.
