A woman tourist from France was reportedly raped in Udaipur, Rajasthan. A case has been filed at the Badgaon police station following a complaint.

Prior to the rape incident, the complainant was at a party with the accused at a cafe. Subsequently, the accused allegedly enticed the tourist to his residence and carried out the offense. The authorities have filed a case and launched an inquiry.

Udaipur police superintendent (SP) Yogesh Goyal stated that the incident occurred on Monday night following a gathering at a cafe. “The man brought the victim to his rented place in Sukher after the party and sexually assaulted her. The woman’s complaint led to the lodging of the FIR,” Goyal stated.

Pooran Singh, the officer in charge of the Badgaon police station, stated that the woman was receiving care at a private hospital. Singh stated that we will discuss with her thoroughly after she is discharged and a complaint has been filed under Section 64 (1) (rape) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the police station in Badgaon, Udaipur.

As per the complaint of the rape survivor, she consistently requested the man to take her to her hotel, but the suspect chose instead to drive to his apartment. She mentioned that her phone was off, and she requested his assistance in charging the device. However, the man compelled himself onto her and assaulted her.

The police have been formed to apprehend Pushpraj. The incident has also been communicated to the French embassy in Delhi.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
