Rishi Sunak, former Prime Minister of UK, traveled to Mumbai on Sunday. His visit became sporty when he participated in a game of tennis ball cricket at the legendary Parsee Gymkhana.

In a post on X, Sunak shared a photograph of himself holding a while people around him watched him play. “No trip to Mumbai is complete without a game of tennis ball cricket,” he wrote.

Sunak, famous for his passion for the sport, was spotted in a white shirt, dark trousers, and athletic shoes while trying his hands at batting on the field. Bodyguards, kids, and ground maintenance personnel all observed as the ex-UK Prime Minister positioned himself against the tennis balls.

Addressing the audience at the gymkhana’s anniversary event, Sunak remarked, “It’s incredible to be present, honoring such a significant establishment. A wealth of history and a lot to anticipate. I succeeded in staying in without going out too often this morning.”

The Parsee Gymkhana, founded in 1885 with Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy serving as its inaugural president and Jamsetjee Tata as the chairman, has been a fundamental part of Mumbai’s cricket culture. Situated on Marine Drive, the club has fostered generations of cricketers and continues to be a cherished location for the sport’s fans.

On Saturday morning, Sunak, together with Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, participated in the Jaipur Literature Festival. A clip of him from one of the occasions became popular on social media. In the clip, Sunak was observed welcoming the audience with his hands together as a host on the stage introduced him.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
