Anil Jha, a former BJP MLA, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday while Arvind Kejriwal, the party’s national convenor, was present at the occasion. This was following the announcement of Delhi Minister and AAP MLA Kailash Gahlot resigning from the party, citing unmet promises and recent controversies as reasons for his decision to step down.

Jha, who has been elected twice as a BJP MLA from the Kirari Assembly area in North West Delhi, has switched to the AAP due to dissatisfaction with the leadership and policies of the saffron party.

Recognized for his extensive support at the local level, Jha’s decision is viewed as a possible advantage for AAP in a region that has traditionally been dominated by the BJP. Jha praised Arvind Kejriwal, saying, “If there is one person who has worked for the Purvanchali community Delhi, it is Arvind Kejriwal.”

Welcoming Jha into the party, Kejriwal said, “Anil Jha is regarded as a prominent figure within the Purvanchali community in Delhi. Individuals from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar migrate to Delhi in search of better educational and job opportunities. For years, the needs of both the BJP and Congress were not taken into consideration. When I took on the role of Chief Minister, we began development projects in these communities to enhance their standard of living.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
