Five doctors lost lives, and one person had sustained severe injuries in a traffic incident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Kannauj district, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday (November 27) morning.
The police stated that the crash happened at approximately 3 am when a fast-moving Scorpio SUV, traveling from Lucknow to Agra, veered out of control and crashed into a divider. The car swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck approaching from the opposite direction.
Police Superintendent Amit Kumar Anand verified that all five victims perished instantly. Jaiveer Singh (39), who is a postgraduate student at Saifai Medical College, is the only survivor and has been taken to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College in Tirwa for treatment.
Dr Anirudh Verma (29) from Agra, Dr Santosh Kumar Maurya (46) from Bhadohi, Dr Arun Kumar (34) from Kannauj, Dr Nardev (35) from Bareilly and Rakesh Kumar (38) were the victims who were identified.

The team, connected to Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in Saifai, was coming back from a wedding in Lucknow when the accident happened.
Dr. Priyanka Bajpai, the Circle Officer, mentioned that the bodies have been sent for a postmortem examination, and an inquiry into the accident is currently in progress.
