Delivering a fierce criticism of the AAP government in Delhi just days before the Assembly election, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed feeling “ashamed” to acknowledge overseas that residents in the national capital are deprived of essential services.

Blaming the AAP for not delivering clean water, electricity, healthcare, housing, and other vital services, the Union Minister expressed disappointment over the city being “left behind” and encouraged residents to support a change in government during the next elections.

“Whenever I visit foreign countries, I hide one thing from the world. I feel ashamed to go abroad and say that people living in the national capital do not get houses, do not get cylinders, or piped water under Jal Jeevan Mission and do not get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat,” he said during an interaction with the South Indian community in Delhi.

“It is unfortunate that in the last 10 years, Delhi has been left behind. The residents of Delhi are not given their rights to water, electricity, gas cylinders, and healthcare. If the government here does not give you your rights, then on February 5, you should also consider changing this government,” Jaishankar claimed.

Delhi will hold elections on February 5 for 70 Assembly seats in a three-way contest between the AAP, BJP, and Congress. The BJP has been criticizing the current AAP administration for not tackling essential needs in the city, even though it has been in power for ten years.

Jaishankar additionally claimed that Delhi, being the capital, ought to exemplify the finest advancements in the nation, but it has fallen short over the last decade.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
