FBI identifies Donald Trump attacker as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks

The suspect in former US President Donald Trump's attempted assassination has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation statement issued on Sunday.

The suspect in former US President Donald Trump‘s attempted assassination has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation statement issued on Sunday.

According to the FBI, the 20-year-old is the “subject involved” in the attempted assassination of the former President during a Republican rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was a registered Republican

Thomas Matthew Crooks was an inhabitant of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. According to state registration records, he was a registered Republican.

Crooks was slain by US Secret Service personnel during a Butler demonstration, according to agency spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi. The motivation for his actions has yet to be established.

The shooting killed one bystander and badly injured two others, according to the US Secret Service.

Trump was addressing supporters at a rally in Butler at the time

Donald Trump, who is leading the Republican presidential race, was speaking to his supporters at a rally in Butler on Saturday (local time) when shooting broke out. He grimaced and ducked before being taken offstage by US Secret Service agents.

Blood was observed on Trump’s face after he claimed a bullet had perforated the upper part of his right ear.

The former US President was spotted pumping his fist in the air as snuggled inside a waiting vehicle, with the audience clapping.
