A former Army man in Hyderabad, Telangana, reportedly murdered his wife, chopped up her body, and cooked the pieces in a pressure cooker prior to disposing of them in a lake. Police stated that the crime was discovered when the woman’s parents reported her missing.

As per the police, the parents of 35-year-old victim Venkat Madhavi, believing there was foul play involved, lodged a missing person report on January 18 at the Meerpet Police Station.

Her spouse, Gurumurthy, who was taken into custody, reportedly pretended not to know and went with his in-laws to the police station.

While investigating the complaint, however, information about the crime came to light. The police suspected that Gurumurthy murdered his wife out of jealousy, chopped up her remains, and tried to eliminate evidence by cooking sections of her in a pressure cooker.

Gurumurthy who belonged to Prakasam district and a former member of the Army, was working as a security guard at Kanchanbagh.

He and Madhavi resided in Jillelaguda, Hyderabad, along with their two children.

According to sources, Gurumurthy asserted he had dismembered Madhavi’s body, placed the parts in a gunny bag, and disposed of it in the Chandan Lake vicinity close to Jillelaguda.

Gurumurthy claimed he murdered his wife in a moment of sudden provocation when she insisted on returning to her hometown in Nandyal, the police reported.

However, the body is yet to be located, and an investigation is underway.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
