Donald Trump will take oath for his second term as President of the United States on Monday. Senator JD Vance will also take oath as Vice President at a ceremony featuring lavish displays, celebrity acts, and attended by prominent billionaires and international power figures.

Bitterly cold temperatures, expected to be the coldest since former President Ronald Reagan’s second swearing-in in 1985, have resulted in the ceremony being moved indoors to the US Capitol Rotunda. In spite of the frigid temperatures, around 200,000 fans are anticipated to gather in the US capital to celebrate the beginning of Trump’s second term in the White House.

The event, typically conducted outside at the Capitol, was shifted indoors because of perilously low temperatures. Nonetheless, the restricted area will deny Trump the significant crowds that typically gather for a presidential inauguration.

In a post on Truth Social on Friday, the President-elect stated that safety was his main concern: “I did not want to see anyone harmed or injured in any manner,” Trump remarked.

Order of Events

Trump and his Vice President, JD Vance, will be sworn into office at noon (10:30 p.m. IST) in the Rotunda of the Capitol. After taking the oath, Trump will present his inaugural address, marking his first speech to the country after assuming office.

Trump will subsequently go to the historic President’s Room to sign transitional papers and pose for a portrait.

The President and Vice President will subsequently join an inaugural luncheon at National Statuary Hall alongside leaders from the Senate, House of Representatives, and honored guests.

Following the luncheon, Trump will inspect the military units on the eastern steps of the Capitol prior to leading an inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
