Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal moves High Court against CBI arrest in liquor policy scam
On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed a petition in the Delhi High Court challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy fraud case.
The development came two days after a Delhi court sent the Chief Minister (on Saturday) to judicial prison until July 12.
While granting him detention, the lower court noted that his name had appeared as one of the “main conspirators” and that the investigation was still ongoing.
The CBI produced Kejriwal in court following his three-day custodial interrogation, and the central agency demanded 14 days of judicial custody, stating that the AAP chairman refused to participate with the probe and provided deceptive answers on purpose.

In its remand petition, the agency voiced concern that he could influence witnesses and evidence already presented to him during the custodial interrogation, as well as potential witnesses who have yet to be interviewed.
The CBI detained Kejriwal, 55, on June 26 from Tihar Jail, where he was in judicial custody for a related money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
