Delhi: 3 men arrested in connection with gang rape of Odisha Woman

New Delhi:

3 men were arrested in connection with the gang rape of a postgraduate woman from Odisha in Central Delhi. The woman was later found dumped in Sarai Kale Khan.

Pune police arrest 1 accused in Bopdev Ghat gang rape case

 

Police received a PCR call at 3:15 am on October 11. The caller reported seeing a woman walking in the Sarai Kale Khan area. She was red kurta and appeared to be bleeding. The caller expressed concern that the woman might have been injured or assaulted.

Investigation by the Police 

A team reached the scene and took the woman to the hospital. There, she explained the doctor and police that she was sexually assaulted by three men. A case was registered.

During the investigation, police checked 700 govt and private CCTV cameras starting from the recovery site Sarai Kale Khan to Old Delhi Railway Station. In one of the Cameras, the CCTV footage shows that the assaulted woman could be seen exiting the Old Delhi Railway Station waiting hall on October 10 at 10:14am. The area near the Old Delhi Railway Station was searched.

More than 150 suspected auto-rickshaws were identified based on visible and non-visible digit combinations. These vehicles were then verified.

After heavy investigation the police managed to identify the Auto-Rickshaw and arrested the driver, Prabhu Mahto. Later, the two other accused, Pramod and Mohammed Shamsul, were arrested.
