PM Modi takes jibe at Congress
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, launched a fresh attack on Congress and criticized it for fielding Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli instead of Amethi. Modi urged Rahul Gandhi not be afraid of the election campaign and flee Amethi. Rahul Gandhi will run for the Lok Sabha seat from Rae Bareli, while Gandhi family supporter Kishori Lal Sharma will run from Amethi, the Congress party said earlier in the day.
The Prime Minister also remarked that he had already anticipated that the Gandhi scion would lose Wayanad, taking aim at Rahul Gandhi with his often-repeated Shehzada jab. Modi said he was aware that Rahul Gandhi would start looking for another seat as soon as the Wayanad polls on April 26 concluded.

PM Modi’s remarks came as soon as the Congress today announced that Rahul Gandhi would move from Raebareli to Amethi. During the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Rahul had suffered defeat.
“I had previously declared that Shehzada would lose in Wayanad and that he would begin searching for a different seat. He is going toward Raebareli’s direction because he is so afraid of Amethi. They ask everyone ‘Daro Mat’. Today I would also want to ask them “Daro Mat, Bhago Mat,” said Modi.
In addition, Modi stated that Sonia Gandhi came to the Rajya Sabha because she lacked the courage to run in the Lok Sabha elections this time. “I had already stated in Parliament that the biggest leader of the Congress would not dare to run for office and would instead flee. After fleeing to Rajasthan, she came to the Rajya Sabha,” said PM Modi.

Many others also criticize Congress
However, Rahul Gandhi was not only criticized by Narendra Modi for contesting from Rae Bareli rather than Amethi. Smriti Irani, the sitting MP for Amethi, also made personal attacks on the Gandhis. Irani claimed that the Gandhi scion had been absent from the constituency for fifteen years and that no progress had been made, hence the people of Amethi had abandoned the Gandhi family in 2019.
Since her election, she claimed, the Lok Sabha seat has seen significant progress. Irani went on: “The Gandhi family did not serve in Rae Bareli either. The residents of Rae Bareli are aware that they have been marginalized by the Amethi people.”
