CSK Announces Leadership Change: Ruturaj Gaikwad to Captain in IPL 2024
Before the Chennai Super Kings‘ opening IPL 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday, the team announced on Thursday that MS Dhoni will relinquish his captaincy, giving Ruturaj Gaikwad the reins.
Under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK won five Indian Premier League titles, making him one of the league’s most successful captains. Dhoni led the team to two Champions Trophy victories in 2010 and 2014 in addition to the IPL.
