A serial killer accused of murdering several middle-aged women in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly has been caught. The perpetrator, known as Kuldeep, a native of Bakarganj in Bareilly, targeted ladies aged 45 to 65 years.

Police revealed that Kuldeep’s modus-operandi was that he would strangle these women using the drape of their sarees or dupatta. Police said that in all the incidents of the murders allegedly committed by Kuldeep, the bodies of women were found with a knot of a saree or a dupatta around their necks.

Besides, clothes, jewelery and Aadhaar cards of four women killed in Shishgar and Shahi districts last year were recovered from Kuldeep’s estate..

Bareilly police had begun search operation with 22 squads

To trace the culprits, Bareilly police began an operation involving 22 squads in rural Shahi and Sheeshgarh. In addition, the movement of Kuldeep was tracked using footage from around 1,500 CCTV cameras.

Police squads were deployed on continuous patrol for approximately 25 km.

A sketch of the accused was also created and distributed based on the evidence gathered throughout the case’s investigation.

According to the police report, Kuldeep was frustrated by his family’s incessant quarrels and infighting. The situation worsened when his father, Baburam, married another lady while his mother was still alive. Baburam used to beat Kuldeep’s mother at the request of his second wife.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
