The Mumbai police cannot locate podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia as his phone is off, whereas they have allowed comedian Samay Raina until March 10 to report to them regarding the investigation into the former’s contentious statements on his YouTube program, an official reported on Saturday.
Allahbadia’s vulgar comments regarding parents and sex on Raina’s recently removed YouTube program India’s Got Latent have ignited significant outrage, resulting in complaints from numerous individuals.
The official stated that the Khar police have not been able to reach Allahbadia, known on YouTube for his ‘BeerBiceps’ channel, because his phone is turned off.
He mentioned that Raina’s attorney approached high-ranking police officers to request an extension, explaining that his client was in the US.
At the lawyer’s request, the police have granted him time until March 10 to present himself to provide a statement.
Allahbadia had previously asked the Khar police to take his statement at his home, but his request was refused.
On Friday, police arrived at his apartment in the Versova area, but it was secured.
Maharashtra Cyber has called upon at least 50 individuals to provide their statements regarding a case it has registered related to this matter. They consist of individuals who took part in the show. On Thursday, actor and film figure Raghu Ram gave his statement to the agency. He served on the judging panel of Raina’s show.
