Congress moves EC over Modi’s remarks
The Congress delegation reached the Election Commission (EC) office in Delhi on Monday. The delegation complained about several issues including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on Muslim League regarding the party’s manifesto and demanded action. This delegation included Congress national spokesperson Pawan Kheda, former Union Minister Salman Khurshid and many others.
Khurshid said, “We are deeply hurt by what the Prime Minister says in his speeches. What he has said about our manifesto is a pack of lies. We are deeply hurt by this. You cannot disagree on the manifesto of any other party. You can keep it. You can debate it. You can analyze it. But to say this about the manifesto of a national level party which has been involved in the national movement is a bundle of lies. Whereas a very A good manifesto has been written.”
The former Union Minister also said, we are extremely saddened by this matter and we understand that the Prime Minister has no right to say such a thing. We have placed this matter before the Election Commission and have made a special request to them to take it seriously and take action on it.

Other Congress leaders attack Modi
Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Kheda said, we raised many issues. We have lodged a strong objection to the way the Prime Minister gave the status of Muslim League to our manifesto. We have also expressed our views on the hoardings of the Prime Minister put up in universities. We have also expressed our views regarding the affidavit of BJP’s Trivandrum candidate Rajiv Chandrashekhar. There are many errors in the affidavit.

“Mistakes have been made intentionally. The YouTube channels which are being closed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting without informing. It is not within their jurisdiction. Since the elections have been declared. The Election Commission should recommend which YouTube channel it wants to remove or not remove. The ministry currently belongs to the caretaker government. He does not have the right to impose such restrictions on freedom of expression,” he added.
