‘Chinmoy Das unjustly….’, says Sheikh Hasina on monk’s arrest

Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was removed from power, criticized the killing of a lawyer in Chittagong and the detention of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, urging for his prompt release. Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was removed from power, criticized the killing of a lawyer in Chittagong and the detention of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, urging for his prompt release.

After escaping to India due to intense student demonstrations in August, Hasina claimed that many opposition members and students were being attacked and detained, urging for the cessation of such “chaotic behaviors”.

An unfair arrest has taken place involving a prominent leader from the Sanatan religious community. He should be freed at once. A temple in Chittagong was set on fire. In the past, mosques, shrines, churches, monasteries, and Ahmadiyya homes were targeted with attacks, vandalism, looting, and arson. Hasina stated in a release from her political party, the Awami League, that it is important to guarantee religious freedom and the safety of life and property for all individuals.

The police reported that a lawyer named assistant public prosecutor Saiful Islam was killed in violent clashes between security forces and Chinmoy Krishna Das’ supporters on Tuesday. The demonstration started following the Chittagong court’s decision to deny bail to Das in a sedition case.

She demanded justice and expressed strong objection to the murder. The individuals responsible for this crime must be located and penalized promptly.

Sheikh Hasina blamed the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus for neglecting to defend human rights, stating that it had unlawfully taken control. She stated that this incident has led to severe violations of human rights. “A lawyer was killed while carrying out his job duties through being beaten. They are individuals who engage in acts of terrorism. She added that no matter who they are, they will face consequences.”

She cautioned the government about potential repercussions if justice is not delivered. She stated that if the government, which has unlawfully taken control, does not penalize these terrorists, it will also be held accountable for breaching human rights.

Sheikh Hasina called on the population to come together to combat violence and insecurity. “I implore fellow citizens to unite and oppose this form of terrorism.” “Stay together,” she exclaimed. Ensuring the safety of the lives and possessions of ordinary citizens is crucial. The current leaders are experiencing incompetence across all areas.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
