A woman in Madhya Pradesh reportedly suffered an assault from her husband and in-laws, who scorched her private areas with a hot iron rod and used chilli powder, according to police.
The woman was tormented by her in-laws, who held her responsible after seeing another man act inappropriately with her at their residence in Rajgarh. Authorities have filed a case against the in-laws and the supposed assailant, officials stated.
According to the complaint, the husband, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and father-in-law abused the victim for roughly two hours, leaving her naked while inflicting physical harm, such as kicking and punching.
The victim’s private areas, thighs, and other body parts were reportedly burned by the mother-in-law with a heated iron rod, while the father-in-law sprinkled chilli powder on her private areas. The event occurred on December 13.
The next day, the husband and father-in-law allegedly transported the victim on a bicycle and left her close to a police station, according to the police.
The woman, nevertheless, succeeded in getting to her family home and recounted the ordeal to her parents, who subsequently lodged a police report.
As per the complaint, a man named Rohit Ruhela visited the woman’s residence and requested a steam machine. When the victim instructed him to stay by the gate, he supposedly shut the door, entered her room, and tried to assault her.

“Accusing me, the sister-in-law contacted my father-in-law and mother-in-law. All three of them undressed me in the frigid night and assaulted me with blows, kicks, and sticks. I lost consciousness,” the victim reported in her complaint.
“The following morning, they hit me again. As my father-in-law undressed me, he used his hand to rub chilli powder on my genital area, while my mother-in-law seared several spots, including my thighs, with a heated iron rod,” she remarked.
After being left on the ground, a nearby man observed her situation and alerted her parents regarding the event.
A case has been filed under applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), such as Section 115(2) for intentionally causing injury, Section 74 for attacking a woman, Section 64 for sexual assault, and Section 3(5) for shared intentions.
