Sanjay Roy married four times, three wives left him
Sanjay Roy, the principal accused in the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, was married four times, and three of his prior spouses left him due to his “misconduct.”
His neighbours made the claim while speaking to India Today TV. They claim Roy was married four times, with three of his wives abandoning him owing to his aggressive behavior. His fourth wife died from cancer last year.
The accused used to frequently return home late at night in a drunken state, neighbours added.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Roy’s mother-in-law claimed that he had been abusive against women for a long time.
After he married my daughter while concealing his prior marriage, we discovered various things against Sanjay. “We even filed a police report against him for beating and torturing my daughter,” the mother-in-law told India Today TV.

She further alleged that Sanjay’s position as a civic volunteer put him in regular touch with the police. “He duped several people by taking a lot of money in pretext of giving job in police,” according to her claim.
Roy, a civic volunteer, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping and murdering a postgraduate trainee doctor at the RG Kar Government Hospital in north Kolkata. The body of the 31-year-old victim was discovered in the hospital’s seminar hall.
A four-page autopsy report revealed that the woman was bleeding in her private regions and had damage marks on various parts of her body.
